New Vendor Earth, Wheel and Fire Brings Hand-Made Christmas Items to Holiday Boutique

Who can resist the allure of a hand-made pottery bowl? Here at the Holiday Boutique, we've fallen in love with these beautiful crocks made by new vendor Earth, Wheel and Fire.

Pictures cannot truly capture the beauty of these amazing pieces. And, they are a perfect Christmas gift for that hard-to-buy-for friend who has everything. I could see a mass of pink tulips hanging out in this turquoise blue bowl on my Easter table. The marbling is exquisite.

This candleholder appears destined for a Thanksgiving table somewhere. Perhaps yours?

This dish is reminiscent of Frankoma pottery for me. Growing up, my Mom and Gram had Frankoma everywhere, and I still remember those pieces with such fondness. This piece would make a lovely candy dish, spot to park your keys and change each night, or a place to store your cosmetics in a bathroom. Really the possibilities are endless.

Looking for a perfect gift for your favorite Claremore Public Schools teacher? Look no further! Fill one of these mugs with an assortment of tea, cappuccino mix, or apple cider packets for a lovely presentation. Or, fill it with colored pencils, a skinny notepad, or ruler. Or, fill it with gift cards to Starbucks, QuikTrip, or any number of other options. What teacher wouldn't appreciate that as a gift?

Ladies, the Holiday Boutique starts tomorrow. We are officially sold out of the VIP Shopping Event tickets, but there are still plenty of General Admission tickets for Friday and Saturday. Remember, the Holiday Boutique is Friday, November 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and you can get them at the door. Also, we offer free gift wrapping!

It's supposed to snow a little on Saturday, ladies, but don't let that dampen your spirits. The ground is too warm for anything to stick for long. Come shop with us!

Cozy Up Your Cottage at The Cozy Cottage

Is your house looking a little drab after the bustle of summer and the early onset of fall? There's no better time to freshen it up than during the holidays. Maybe you just don't know where to start. That's where new Holiday Boutique vendor The Cozy Cottage comes in.

Owner Kathy Glover always decorates the window of her store in the cutest, seasonal way and her eye for detail is exceptional. Let Kathy work her magic on your special living spaces.

This deer would look perfect atop a mantelpiece both during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Who can resist a red damask slipper chair? Slipper chairs are one of the seven indispensable furniture buys listed in the decorating book "Good Bones, Great Pieces." Every home should have at least one.

Pillows with meaningful messages also a trend I am loving right now. Give this pillow to a friend or family member who means the world and all to you...

These amazing, elaborately adorned picture frames also would make a perfect gift for a friend or on a sofa table filled with precious family photos.

Kathy also carries an assortment of winter land scenes and Christmas decor.

I'm loving this carved OSU cutting board. I know someone who would treasure this and would have a hard time cutting vegetables on it.

Don't miss The Cozy Cottage's booth at the Holiday Boutique this week. VIP shopping begins Thursday, November 13th at 5 p.m. at the RSU Centennial Center. Get your ticket now. They're $25 and just a few are left.

General Admission shopping begins Friday, November 14 and continues Saturday, November 15. Those tickets are $5.

Any Day Can Be a "Spa Day" with BeautiControl

During the holidays, we all long for a day of pampering at the spa, but it's not easy to find time to do that during this hectic, rush-rush time of year. New vendor, BeautiControl, has just what you need to turn your own bathroom into a luxurious oasis of calm.

And, there's something for everyone in the family at BeautiControl. Including this amazing baby set that will have your baby smelling fresh, clean, and ready for those pictures with Santa.

For the man on your list, this refreshing shave ensemble will have his face clean and well-groomed just in time for all of the holiday gatherings you'll attend together.

After all that shopping, these therapeutic bath minerals can go into a warm bathtub and you can soak your cares away. The essential oils of peppermint and eucalyptus will awaken your senses and have you feeling refreshed in no time.

The "Be Merry" collection is a perfect and thoughtful gift for your favorite teacher, barista, or letter-carrier. Choose from the Be Merry Mint or Be Merry Berry scents. Both scents come with a scrub, perfect for smoothing away dry skin, and an extra-emollient lotion for dry, chapped hands, a common and unfortunate problem during winter.

Last, but certainly not least is this amazing line of bath and personal care products, Tierra Azul. Formulated just like an expensive brand utilized in a high-end spa, Tierra Azul smells and feels like heaven. The line includes a body scrub, body butter, a refreshingly light scented oil, and a perfume, among others. It's the best-smelling thing we've sniffed in a long time - and very affordable. Treat yourself and others on your list!

The Holiday Boutique will be here next week. Get your tickets now. Call the Rogers County United Way Office at (918) 343-1165 to get your tickets now.

Speaking of cold, scarf weather is right around the corner and what OU or OSU fan wouldn't want to bundle up with one of these handmade scarves?

Looking for a gift for your favorite friend? You know, the one that you can call at 3 a.m. and the one you get together with for cocktails after work? Pair the glass with one of these yummy Wine-A-Rita mixes from Tiffany's. These mixes just shout out for a fruit skewer and an umbrella.

Another great gift idea are these scrumptious Okie Dips, including the T-Town Loaded Baked Potato Dip Mix (yum!) and the Route 66 BLT Dip Mix (yes, please!) Just add a carton of sour cream, tear open a bag of chips, and you're all set for last-minute parties.

Oklahoma Christian Authors Remind Us Jesus Is The Reason For The Season

Stand silently and tune out the snowmen and Santa decorations, discarded wrapping paper, and hectic schedules of the holiday season. Listen carefully and you can hear the faint but simple message about a baby, born 2014 years ago, a Savior, Jesus Christ, who came so that you and I could experience everlasting life.

Local author, Carol Round, and her friends with the Oklahoma Christian Writers, have a variety of books about how to be in relationship with Jesus now and in the future. They will join us for the Sixth Annual Holiday Boutique benefiting the Rogers County United Way.

Area residents know Carol well from her weekly column in various newspapers. Carol has a knack for taking everyday life lessons and weaving into them reminders about how we can connect with God and deepen our relationship with Him. Carol helps us remember Who holds the future.

Carol's books would make a great gift for a friend who has had a difficult time in 2014 and is looking for peace and solace. The Bible tells us that troubles are certain, and that nearly every mountaintop experience is followed by a walk through the dark valleys of life. The Good News is that God cares for his creation and He carries us through the valleys.

The Oklahoma Christian Writers will be on hand to sign their books, making them an extra-special gift for loved ones who need and want to draw closer to God.

For more information about the Holiday Boutique, which is November 13-15, 2014 at the RSU Centennial Center, or to purchase tickets, please call (918) 343-1165.
